The Desert Perpetual is Destiny 2's newest raid, released with The Edge of Fate in July 2025. You pick the first three bosses in any order: Epoptes, Iatros and Agraios. Clearing all three unlocks the final boss, Koregos, the Worldline. Every fight is about the same skills: split into small teams, read buffs, bank Chronons and make clear callouts.
This guide explains how each encounter works, what every team does and how to prepare. It is current as of October 2026, after Monument of Triumph (update 9.7.0), which Bungie released in June 2026 as its final live content update. See your clears and fastest times for every raid and dungeon on the RankSurge Destiny 2 stats page.
How does The Desert Perpetual work?
The raid has no fixed order. In the opening area you choose one of three interactables, and each prompt leads to a boss, per Shacknews and The Game Post. Enemies in the opening area do not have to be killed, per Kyber's Corner.
| Prompt | Encounter | Boss |
|---|---|---|
| "All are entangled" | Clear Sight | Epoptes, Lord of Quanta (Hydra) |
| "Axion is axiom" | Living Rhythm | Iatros, Inward-Turned (Wyvern) |
| "Interference patterns swell" | Inverse Function | Agraios, Inherent (Hobgoblin) |
| Unlocked after all three | End Times | Koregos, the Worldline (Harpy) |
Normal difficulty needs 100 Power, per Kyber's Corner. Shacknews suggests starting with Epoptes, because it is the most technical fight.
How do you beat Epoptes, Lord of Quanta?
Epoptes is a communication check. Clear the adds until two Time Magistrate Cyclops spawn and kill both. Pairs then stand on side plates to gain Constant Temporality, a short buff that lets them break eyes. Two Inside Readers go into the side rooms and shoot the shield eyes that the Outside Readers in the middle call out. Breaking the shields lets the team shoot the Flashlight eye and start damage, per The Game Post.
- Inside Readers (2): enter the side rooms and shoot only the called eyes.
- Outside Readers (2): read the eyes from the middle and call them clearly.
- Ad clear (2): keep the middle safe and kill the Cyclops fast.
How do you beat Iatros, Inward-Turned?
Iatros is about keeping the clock alive. Vex Minotaurs drop Chronons that you bank in the Hourglass to add time. As you bank, players build Diastole stacks; at four stacks they are launched. Players shoot Vex boxes at the pillars to build platforms, and one climber with Absolute Temporality climbs and interacts with a small cube at the top of each set. Damage lasts only seconds, so a runner keeps killing Minotaurs and dunking Chronons during it to stop a wipe, per The Game Post and Shacknews.
How do you beat Agraios, Inherent?
Agraios splits into three versions: made Cyclical, made Absolute and made Constant. Three players stand on the matching plates (left Cyclical, middle Absolute, right Constant) and bring their buff under the boss with the same name. The rest of the team kills the Vex Hydra and Minotaurs and delivers their Chronons to charge the Accelerator rings. A runner passes through the rings to charge a special grenade that blocks the boss's shot and starts damage, per The Game Post and Shacknews. Each pass through the rings again extends the phase.
How do you beat Koregos, the Worldline?
Koregos uses everything you learned. The fight starts with a timer. In the lower phase, players with the Constant, Cyclical and Absolute buffs share what each one can see: Constant players see mine colors, Cyclical players see which mines are active, and the Absolute player reads the color of the central ring, per Shacknews. Shoot the right mines and turrets, bank Chronons into the Hourglass, then move to the upper phase.
In the upper phase, cube interactions start damage and the boss's eyes become crit spots, while one player keeps dunking Chronons to extend the phase. Watch for lasers and Arc pools. The Game Post adds that when Koregos dies a short timer starts and everyone must leave the boss platform, so move as soon as the kill lands.
What changed for raids in 2026?
Bungie released Monument of Triumph (update 9.7.0) on June 9, 2026, after which Destiny 2 receives no more planned live-service content updates, per Bungie Help. Raids and dungeons can now be launched from the new Raids and Dungeons node or Pinnacle Ops. Per Kyber's Corner, it changed raid rewards:
- Featured rotation: two featured raids and two featured dungeons each week give the best rewards.
- Feats moved: Standard difficulty no longer needs Feats for weekly top-tier rewards; Feats now live in a Custom difficulty with extra rewards.
- Older raid gear: pre-Edge of Fate raid and dungeon gear now comes in tiers, and raid and dungeon Exotic weapons are farmable.
Check the weekly reset before you plan a run. For example, Vow of the Disciple and Last Wish were the featured raids for October 13 to 20, 2026, per Kyber's Corner.
How do you prepare your fireteam?
- Assign roles before you load in: readers, runners, climbers and plate players. Most wipes are a role nobody took.
- Agree on callouts: use the same names for eyes, plates and colors every attempt.
- Bring two loadouts: one for add clear and one for damage. The Destiny 2 Vault Manager lets you save and equip loadouts between encounters.
- Check your Power: our guide to Destiny 2 Power level explains caps and how to climb.
- Find a team in your clan: the clan board in our Destiny 2 clan stats guide shows who has the most PvE clears.
Ask RankSurge AI about your profile. Look up your Bungie Name on the Destiny 2 stats page and ask our AI what to work on next, from your own PvE clears and Crucible stats. Then read the Trials of Osiris guide or set up your raid loadouts in the Vault Manager.
Frequently asked questions
What order should you do The Desert Perpetual encounters in?
Any order you like. In the opening area you choose one of three interactables, and each leads to one boss: Epoptes, Iatros or Agraios. Clearing all three unlocks the final boss, Koregos, the Worldline. Shacknews suggests starting with Epoptes, because it asks the most of your callouts, so you learn the raid's communication style early. Groups that struggle with timers often save Iatros for last.
What Power do you need for The Desert Perpetual?
Normal difficulty needs 100 Power, per Kyber's Corner's raid page, which is well below the current caps. Power still matters for comfort, because enemies hit harder when you are below the activity's level. Our Destiny 2 Power level guide explains the current soft and hard caps. Check the in-game director for any Custom or higher difficulties and their own requirements before you load in.
Who is the final boss of The Desert Perpetual?
The final boss is Koregos, the Worldline, a Vex Harpy, fought in the End Times encounter. You unlock it by clearing Epoptes, Iatros and Agraios in any order. The fight combines the lower-phase buff reading and Chronon banking from earlier encounters with an upper phase where cube interactions start damage and the boss's eyes become the crit spots.
Is The Desert Perpetual the newest Destiny 2 raid?
Yes, as far as we can verify. It launched with The Edge of Fate on July 19, 2025. Monument of Triumph, released on June 9, 2026 as Destiny 2's final live content update, refreshed raid and dungeon rewards and added a weekly featured rotation, but the coverage we checked lists no new raid. Equilibrium, from December 2025, is the newest dungeon.
Is The Desert Perpetual featured this week?
It depends on the weekly reset. Since Monument of Triumph, two raids and two dungeons are featured each week with the best rewards. For October 13 to 20, 2026, the featured raids were Vow of the Disciple and Last Wish, per Kyber's Corner. Check the in-game director or a weekly reset summary before you plan your run, because the rotation changes every Tuesday.
Can RankSurge show my raid clears?
Yes. The RankSurge Destiny 2 stats page has a Raids and dungeons section with your clears and fastest times for each raid and dungeon, plus total raid clears, Power and Crucible stats, read from the official Bungie.net API. If your activity history is private, it shows all-time totals instead of a per-raid list, so set your Bungie.net profile to public. The Vault Manager can move items and equip saved loadouts once you sign in with Bungie.
