The Rank Goal Planner will help you climb on purpose. You will set a target rank and a deadline, and it will break the climb into weekly goals, track progress from your real match history and suggest one habit to focus on. It will use your official visible rank only, never a hidden MMR estimate.
Launching soon. Goal tracking switches on for each game as its stats service launches. Get notified when it goes live.
How will I set a rank goal?
1. Pick your target
Choose the game, your current rank and the rank you want to reach.
2. Set a deadline
Pick an end date, ideally before the season or act ends.
3. Follow weekly goals
Get a weekly game target and one focus habit, updated from your results.
How will progress be tracked?
Progress will use the same visible numbers you see in game, such as RR in Valorant or LP in League. Each week will show games played, net rank change and whether you are on pace.
If you fall behind, the planner will re-spread the remaining climb over the weeks left. It will look at trends, not one bad night.
Why not estimate hidden MMR?
Riot's developer policies prohibit MMR or ELO calculators, and hidden-number guesses tend to mislead. Your visible rank and results are the honest scoreboard.
What weekly goals actually help?
| Goal type | Example | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Volume | A set number of ranked games across several days | Steady practice beats marathon sessions |
| Habit | Review one death per match | One fix at a time sticks |
| Pool | Play mainly two or three picks | Mastery beats chasing every patch |
| Stop rule | Take a break after two losses in a row | Limits tilt sessions |
What tips help you hit a rank goal?
Warm up before ranked, play your best hours, and review losses with fresh eyes. Use the Match Tracker report cards to pick the week's focus habit.
Watch activity rules. League applies daily LP decay to inactive Master+ players and Valorant needs a game every 7 days to stay on the leaderboard, per Riot Support.
Check where your target sits on Rank Distribution, pick strong options on Tier Lists, and find your profile with the Player Lookup.
Frequently asked questions
How will the Rank Goal Planner work?
You will pick a game, your current rank and the rank you want to reach, then choose a deadline. The planner will break the climb into weekly goals, such as number of ranked games and a focus habit, and track your progress from your real match history. It will use the official visible rank, so progress will be measured exactly the way the game measures it.
Is the Rank Goal Planner an MMR estimator?
No. It will never estimate hidden MMR or ELO. Riot's developer policies prohibit MMR or ELO calculators for its games, and we apply the same approach everywhere. The planner will track your visible rank and points, like LP or RR, and your match results. It will not predict how many wins you need based on a hidden number.
How many games a week should I plan for?
Choose a number you can play well, not just play. Fatigue and tilt cost more rank than a smaller schedule does. Start with a realistic weekly target, review it after the first week, and let the planner adjust. Spreading games across several days also helps in games with activity rules, like League's decay for inactive Master+ players.
What happens if I fall behind my weekly goal?
Nothing bad. The planner will simply re-spread the remaining climb over the weeks left and show whether the deadline still looks realistic. If it does not, you can extend the date or pick a closer rank. Short dips are normal, so it will look at your trend across weeks rather than a single bad session.
Which games can I plan a rank goal for?
All seven RankSurge games with ranked modes: Valorant, League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Deadlock, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch 2 and Destiny 2 competitive play. Tracking turns on for each game as its stats service launches. Valorant progress tracking will require you to opt in by signing in with Riot, which is a Riot policy for all third-party Valorant apps.
When will the Rank Goal Planner be available?
It launches with the stats service in phases: Deadlock, Counter-Strike 2, Destiny 2 and Marvel Rivals first, League of Legends and Valorant after Riot approves our production key, and Overwatch 2 last. Join the newsletter and we will tell you the day it opens for your game, so you can set your first goal right away.
