When does the current Valorant act end?
Valorant moved into Season 2026 Act 6 on October 13, 2026, and the official VALORANT wiki lists the act ending on January 5, 2027. Act 5 began in mid-August, so Act 6 is the final act of the 2026 Season. Riot Games can still move the cutover by a day or two around patch downtime.
According to the same wiki's Competitive rules page, a new act asks every player for one placement game, which restores roughly the rank you ended on. When a new Season (formerly an Episode) begins, that rises to five placement games and you land a few tiers lower. Immortal and Radiant players keep their leaderboard spot but lose most of their RR at each act change, and Radiant drops to Immortal.
That means the January 2027 change is the bigger one to plan for. Tiers, RR and act ranks are covered in our Valorant ranks guide.
When does the League of Legends season reset?
League of Legends now runs three themed seasons a year. Season 3 of 2026 began at noon local server time on July 29, per Riot's patch 26.15 notes. No end date has been announced; Riot normally confirms it in the final patch notes of the year.
The mid-year season changes do not reset your rank. As GameSpace reported, LP and visible rank carried over into Season 3, and only the January transition wipes visible ranks and sends players back through placements. The 15-win Victorious mission does refresh at every season start, so wins after July 29 count toward this season's reward.
Separately, Riot reset the Master-and-above tiers mid-season in spring 2026, so apex players should watch patch notes closely. Tiers and LP rules are in our League of Legends ranks guide.
When does CS2 Premier Season 5 end?
Valve brought Premier Season 5 online on July 9, 2026, according to Talkesport. Valve has not announced an end date. Previous Premier seasons ran for several months and often finished near a Major, but treat any estimate as a guess until Valve posts the update.
When a new Premier season does arrive, everyone's CS Rating is cleared. You start without a visible rating and have to win matches again to reveal it, and Valve has recalibrated ratings using the prior season's results. Regular Competitive map ranks work separately from Premier. Our CS2 Premier rating guide breaks down the color bands.
When does Marvel Rivals Season 10 end?
Marvel Rivals Season 10 launched on September 11, 2026, and its second half (Season 10.5) started on October 9, according to AllThings.How. NetEase Games has not announced when Season 11 begins, so no end date is confirmed for Season 10.5.
The half-season change on October 9 did not lower anyone's rank. At a full new season, competitive rank drops six divisions, which works out to two full tiers. End-of-season rewards are based on the peak rank you reached, not where you finish. Tiers and division rules are in our Marvel Rivals ranks guide.
When does Deadlock Beta Season 1 end?
Deadlock's Ranked Mode launched with Beta Season 1 on July 30, 2026. Valve pushed the end back in an October 6 update, and the Deadlock wiki now lists November 5, 2026 at 2 PM PDT (21:00 UTC). Beta Season 2 starts immediately afterward, with no off-season.
Valve has not detailed what resets between beta seasons. The current rules call for eight solo placement matches, with Oracle VI as the highest possible starting rank, and profile badges are based on the highest rank you reach. Unlocking Ranked still requires 60 Standard wins plus three heroes with 15 wins each. More in our Deadlock ranks guide.
When does Overwatch Season 5 end?
Overwatch Season 5 started on October 6, 2026, and Dexerto's season calendar lists it ending on December 8, 2026, when Season 6 is due to begin. Blizzard Entertainment has run 2026 seasons for roughly eight to nine weeks each, but a season can be extended.
The calendar lists a competitive rank reset only for Season 1, which began on February 10, 2026. No full reset has been announced for Season 6, so expect your rank to carry over unless Blizzard's patch notes say otherwise. Tiers and divisions are explained in our Overwatch ranks guide.
Will Destiny 2 get a new Competitive season?
No. Bungie announced on May 21, 2026 that it was ending active development, and the final live-service content update arrived on June 9, 2026, as VGC reported. Bungie says the game will stay playable, but no new seasons are planned.
For Competitive Crucible, that means no new season start dates and no scheduled division resets. Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner moved to a fixed rotation instead of a seasonal calendar. Bungie has not published detailed Competitive rules for the post-update period, so check the in-game playlist rather than assuming a reset. Divisions are covered in our Destiny 2 Competitive guide.
How should you prepare for a rank reset?
A reset mostly rewards players who show up ready rather than rusty. Before the next cutover:
- Finish season reward missions early, since many rewards lock at the season's last day.
- Warm up in unranked or deathmatch before your first placement game, because early games weigh heavily.
- Play placements solo or with a steady duo, and stop after two losses in a row.
- Read the new patch notes for map pool and hero or agent changes before queuing.
- Set a realistic target with the rank goal planner, and see where your rank sits on the rank distribution page.
After placements, give your hidden rating a dozen or so games to settle before judging your new rank. Top-end players can follow the leaderboards once they refill.
Ready to climb? Plan your push before the next reset with our climbing guides for every game.
Track your climb. Season dates move, so bookmark the ranks explained hub and join the RankSurge newsletter for reset reminders before each cutover. Stat lookups are opening game by game on the player lookup page: Deadlock, CS2, Dota 2 and Destiny 2 are live now, Valorant, League of Legends and Overwatch follow later, and Marvel Rivals waits on an official data source.
Frequently asked questions
When does the current Valorant act end?
Valorant Season 2026 Act 6 is listed to end on January 5, 2027, according to the official VALORANT wiki. It started on October 13, 2026, and is the last act of the 2026 Season. Riot can move the cutover slightly around patch downtime, so confirm the date in the client during the final week. Because January also starts a new Season, that change uses five placement games and places most players a few tiers lower, rather than the single placement game used between acts.
Does League of Legends reset ranks between seasons in 2026?
Only once a year. League now runs three themed seasons, but the mid-year switches, including the start of Season 3 on July 29, 2026, carried LP and visible rank over without placements. The visible rank reset and fresh placement matches happen at the January transition. The 15-win Victorious mission does refresh at every season start. Riot also reset the Master-and-above tiers mid-season in spring 2026, so apex players should read patch notes before each split.
When does CS2 Premier Season 5 end?
Valve has not announced an end date. Premier Season 5 went live on July 9, 2026, and earlier Premier seasons ran several months, often wrapping up around a Major. When Season 6 does arrive, CS Ratings are cleared and you must win matches again to reveal a new rating, so plan to play some games in the first week. Until Valve posts the update, treat any end date you see as an estimate.
Does Marvel Rivals reset rank at the half-season?
No. The half-season update on October 9, 2026, which opened Season 10.5, did not lower ranks. The drop comes at a full new season, when competitive rank falls six divisions, or two full tiers. End-of-season rewards are based on the peak rank you reached during the season rather than your final rank. NetEase has not announced the Season 11 start date yet, so the next reset date is still unconfirmed.
When does Deadlock Beta Season 1 end?
Deadlock Beta Season 1 is listed to end on November 5, 2026, at 2 PM PDT, which is 21:00 UTC. Valve pushed the date back in an October 6 update, and Beta Season 2 starts immediately afterward. Valve has not explained what resets between beta seasons. Current rules require eight solo placement matches, cap starting placement at Oracle VI, and award profile badges based on the highest rank you reach.
Is Destiny 2 getting another Competitive season?
No new seasons are planned. Bungie ended active development of Destiny 2, and the final live-service content update arrived on June 9, 2026. The game remains playable, and Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner now run on a fixed rotation instead of a seasonal schedule. Without new seasons, there are no scheduled Competitive division resets to plan around. Bungie has not posted detailed post-update Competitive rules, so check the in-game playlist.
