PUBG: Battlegrounds ranked has eight tiers, from lowest to highest: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Crystal, Diamond, Master and Survivor. Tiers have four divisions each since Season 36. Survivor is the top tier: it needs at least 3,700 RP and one of a small number of regional leaderboard slots.
This guide covers every tier in order, how RP works, how placement and resets work, which ranked modes run where, and what you need to unlock ranked. It is current as of October 2026, in Ranked Season 43 (Update 43.1). You can check your own tier and RP on the RankSurge PUBG stats tracker.
What are the PUBG ranks in order?
The current tier list, per the Update 43.1 patch notes, runs from Bronze to Survivor. Crystal and Survivor were added in Season 36, when Crystal was placed between Platinum and Diamond and the old Top 500 tier was removed, per the Season 36 ranked dev letter.
| Tier | Order | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 1 (lowest) | Season reward: Bronze PUBG ID emblem |
| Silver | 2 | Season reward: Silver PUBG ID emblem |
| Gold | 3 | First tier with the ranked weapon and parachute skins |
| Platinum | 4 | Animated emblem and Platinum medal |
| Crystal | 5 | Added in Season 36, between Platinum and Diamond |
| Diamond | 6 | Animated emblem and Diamond medal |
| Master | 7 | Adds an animated Master nameplate |
| Survivor | 8 (highest) | 3,700+ RP and a limited regional slot |
Rewards are based on your final tier for the season. Parachute skins, weapon skins and medals are permanent. Other rewards are removed after the next season ends, per the 43.1 notes. Season 43 also adds a permanent Mk14 ranked skin as a tier reward.
How do divisions and RP work in PUBG ranked?
Your rank is set by Rank Points (RP). You gain RP for a good match and lose RP for a poor one. Since Season 36, each tier has four divisions instead of five, per the Update 36.1 patch notes. PUBG does not list the RP range of every tier in its recent patch notes, so we do not print a full RP table here.
- One shared rank: Ranked tier and RP are unified across Duo and Squad and across FPP and TPP. You do not have separate ranks per mode.
- Swing cap: Update 36.1 capped RP change at -44 to +44 per match.
- Penalties: Team kills and suicides now take RP away directly.
- Placement first: Update 42.1 gave final placement more weight in the RP formula and reduced RP losses at higher tiers, per the Update 42.1 patch notes.
- Streak bonus: Two top 4 finishes in a row add +5 RP, and two wins in a row add +10 RP. Only the highest bonus applies, and a leaver penalty resets your progress.
Season 43 also raised the minimum performance requirements for Gold and above in Duo and Solo. PUBG did not publish the new numbers.
How do you reach Survivor tier?
Survivor works differently from the other tiers. Per the 36.1 notes, you need live RP and leaderboard RP of 3,700 or more, plus a top finish on your regional leaderboard. Slots are limited by region.
- Slots at launch: When Survivor launched, PUBG listed 200 slots for PC AS, 100 for PC SEA, 50 each for PC EU, Kakao and RU, and 5 each for PC NA and PC SA. Console had 50 for NA, 20 for EU and 5 each for APAC and SA.
- No protection: Tier Protection does not apply. Drop below 3,700 live RP and you fall to Master right away.
- Quick return: Get back above 3,700 before the next leaderboard update and you are promoted again.
The ranked leaderboard shows the top 500 players by RP and updates every 4 hours. Since Update 43.1 it sits under Career, then Leaderboard. Players outside the top 500 see a percentage instead of a rank.
How long is a PUBG ranked season and when does it reset?
Ranked seasons follow major updates. Season 40 started with Update 40.1 in February 2026, per the Update 40.1 patch notes. Season 42 started with Update 42.1 in June and ran for three months, through Update 42.3. PUBG said that was longer than usual, to prepare for a future ranked revamp.
Season 43 started with the Update 43.1 maintenance on September 10, 2026 on PC and September 17, 2026 on console. PUBG has not posted an end date. The leaderboard resets at the start of each season, and you can see last season's final tier on your Career page.
How do placement matches work in PUBG?
At the start of Season 36, every player's RP was reset to 1,500 instead of using placement matches. The 36.1 notes said placement matches based on the previous season's final RP would return in Season 37. In practice, your start each season depends on how you finished the last one.
PUBG's recent patch notes do not state a fixed number of placement matches, so check the ranked lobby in game. Play placement games when you are warmed up, because a strong start saves you hours of climbing.
Which ranked modes can you play in PUBG?
Squad is the main ranked mode. Duo and Solo run in some regions only, and PUBG changes the list when player numbers change.
- Duo: Added to all regions in Season 36, with limits by perspective. Update 40.1 added RU Duo TPP.
- Squad: Update 40.1 added RU Squad TPP and NA and SA Squad TPP, and removed NA and SA Squad FPP.
- Solo: Removed from AS in Season 36. Update 42.1 brought back PC AS Ranked Solo TPP from 12:00 to 16:00 UTC.
- Recent cut: Update 43.1 discontinued TPP Duo in the SA region.
The ranked map pool in Update 43.1 is Erangel, Miramar, Taego and Rondo at 25% each, per the 43.1 map service report. Ranked also uses its own blue zone settings. Update 42.1 shortened a ranked match to 30 minutes 10 seconds and made blue zone damage time-based.
What do you need to play PUBG ranked?
PUBG is free to play, but ranked has an entry level. The BATTLEGROUNDS Plus store page says to "play Normal Matches and increase your Survival Mastery level to play Ranked." BATTLEGROUNDS Plus also gives competitive matchmaking against other Plus players. Since Update 42.1, Plus costs 500 G-Coin or 20,000 BP in game.
Once you can queue, play the mode you will stick with. Since one RP total covers Duo, Squad, FPP and TPP, you do not need to grind each one. To compare your numbers with friends, use AI Profile Pick, and see how other games handle ranks on our ranks explained hub.

Frequently asked questions
What are the PUBG ranks in order?
From lowest to highest, PUBG: Battlegrounds ranked tiers are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Crystal, Diamond, Master and Survivor. Crystal and Survivor were added in Season 36, when Crystal was placed between Platinum and Diamond and the old Top 500 tier was removed. Each tier has four divisions. Survivor is the highest tier and only a small number of players in each region can hold it at the same time.
What is the highest rank in PUBG?
Survivor is the highest rank in PUBG: Battlegrounds. It replaced the Top 500 tier in Season 36. To reach it, you need live RP and leaderboard RP of at least 3,700 and a top position on your regional leaderboard, because slots are limited. At launch, PC AS had 200 slots while PC NA had only 5. Survivor has no Tier Protection: if your live RP falls below 3,700 you drop to Master at once, and you return if you climb back before the next leaderboard update.
How many divisions does each PUBG tier have?
Each PUBG ranked tier has four divisions. PUBG cut divisions from five to four in the Season 36 ranked revamp, which arrived with Update 36.1 in June 2025. Fewer divisions means each promotion feels like a bigger step. PUBG does not list the RP range for every division in its recent patch notes, so the clearest guide is the RP bar on your Career page and your tier on the RankSurge PUBG stats tracker.
When does the PUBG ranked season reset?
A new ranked season starts with a major update, and the leaderboard resets during that maintenance. Season 43 started with Update 43.1 on September 10, 2026 on PC and September 17, 2026 on console. PUBG has not posted an end date for Season 43. Season 42 ran about three months, which PUBG said was longer than usual while it prepared a future ranked revamp. Your final tier from the past season stays visible on your Career page.
Is ranked RP shared between Duo and Squad in PUBG?
Yes. Since Season 36, PUBG uses one ranked tier and one RP total across Duo and Squad and across FPP and TPP. That means a win in Duo TPP moves the same rank as a win in Squad FPP. It also means you can switch modes without starting over. Which modes you can queue depends on your region and platform, since PUBG adds or removes ranked queues as player numbers change.
How do you unlock ranked in PUBG?
You unlock ranked by leveling up. The official BATTLEGROUNDS Plus store page says to play Normal Matches and raise your Survival Mastery level to play Ranked. BATTLEGROUNDS Plus is a separate upgrade that adds competitive matchmaking against other Plus players, custom matches and XP boosts. Since Update 42.1 it costs 500 G-Coin or 20,000 BP. Check the ranked lobby in game for the exact level your account still needs.
