The RankSurge Destiny 2 build planner lets you mock up a full loadout for your Hunter, Titan or Warlock before you farm or swap gear. Pick three weapons with their perks and five armor pieces, and the planner totals your Weapons, Health, Class, Grenade, Super and Melee stats, shows active set bonuses and warns you about clashes.
How do I plan a build?
- Choose your class and subclass element.
- Fill each weapon slot and pick the perks you want; the key stats update as you go.
- Fill each armor slot, then set its archetype, tertiary stat and gear tier to estimate the piece's stats.
- Check the totals, set bonuses and warnings, then share the build link or compare it with a second build.
Can I save a build to my in-game loadouts?
Yes. Select Save to in-game loadout and sign in with Bungie. RankSurge finds your copies of each item, moves them to the right character, equips them and saves what is equipped into the loadout slot you choose. Destiny 2 only saves gear you own, and your Guardian must be in orbit or a social space. Select Use my real gear stats to swap the estimates for the exact rolls on your armor.
Can AI pick the best loadout for an activity?
Yes. Select AI loadouts for an activity, sign in with Bungie, then choose a character and an activity: raid or dungeon, Grandmaster or Master content, strikes and Onslaught, Crucible, Trials of Osiris or Gambit. RankSurge searches every weapon and armor piece you own and builds three different loadouts, such as boss damage, survival and ability builds for a raid. The AI coach compares them and marks its pick. Tap Equip on my Guardian and RankSurge moves and equips the whole loadout in one go.
Can it find the best build from the gear I own?
Yes. Select Best build from my gear and sign in with Bungie. Pick the stats that matter most, an exotic and a set bonus, and RankSurge checks every combination of armor in your vault and on your characters using the exact rolls on each piece. It shows the best results with their stat totals and set bonuses. If you don't own a piece the build needs, such as an exotic or a set piece you haven't farmed yet, it fills that slot with a best-roll estimate and marks it Not owned, so you know what to chase. Choose Only use gear I own to turn fill-ins off.
How do I compare two builds?
Build A and Build B are saved in your browser. Fill both, then open Compare A vs B to see every stat side by side with the difference, plus each slot, set bonus and warning. Use Copy to Build B to try a small change without losing your original.

Frequently asked questions
Are the build planner stats exact?
They are estimates unless you load your own gear. Armor 3.0 pieces roll a primary and secondary stat from their archetype plus one tertiary stat, and the planner uses Bungie's roll ranges for the gear tier you pick. Sign in and select Use my real gear stats to use the exact rolls on armor you own. Mods, tuning and subclass fragments add more in game.
Is it safe to save a build to my loadouts?
You sign in on Bungie.net, never on RankSurge. Your session is encrypted and kept only in your browser. RankSurge can only move, equip and save loadouts; it cannot delete, dismantle or trade items. It asks before replacing a filled loadout slot.
Why did saving my loadout fail?
Destiny 2 only changes gear while your Guardian is in orbit or a social space, and an item equipped on another character has to be unequipped there first. The character also needs free inventory space for each item. Fix the step shown in red and try again.
Can I share a build with my fireteam?
Yes. Select Share build to copy a link. Anyone who opens it sees the same weapons, perks, armor and settings in their own build planner.
Does the planner check exotic limits?
Yes. It warns you if a build has more than one exotic weapon or more than one exotic armor piece, or if an armor piece is for another class, and it will not save a build to your loadouts until those are fixed.
What happens if I don't own an armor piece the best build needs?
The optimizer fills that slot with the best piece you could get, estimated at a Tier 5 best roll, and labels it Not owned. Everything else uses your real rolls. You can still save the build to a loadout; Destiny 2 will only equip the pieces you own, so farm the marked pieces to finish it.
How does the AI loadout agent choose weapons and armor?
It scores every weapon you own for the activity you pick, using the weapon type, ammo mix, key stats and current community meta picks, and keeps at most one exotic weapon. It then searches your armor for the best stat totals for each playstyle, with at most one exotic armor piece. The three loadouts use different exotics where you own them, and the AI coach explains which one fits the activity best.
