What did the Frozen Trail 2.0 update add?

Embark called Frozen Trail its largest update since launch. The main additions:

  • Pendola Pass: a new icy map set around an old Italian village and transport hub, with Dynamic Loot Zones whose loot value can change from raid to raid.
  • The ARC Frigate: a huge ARC vessel high above Pendola Pass that raiders board and fight through, appearing as a map condition.
  • New ARC: the fast, aggressive Bully, the stalking Skulker and the Hydra, a three-part turret found on the Frigate.
  • The Outpost: an extension of your Raider Den, unlocked through a project, with modules, 100 Furniture Designs and a Research Workstation for deeper weapon modding, including the Amplified fifth weapon quality level.
  • Reward Passes: they replace Raider Decks. Cred became Reward Points, and the Frozen Trail Pass has 60 levels on Free and Premium tracks.
  • Skill tree revamp: mid-branch nodes are a choice between two skills, and end-of-branch nodes let you pick two of three.
  • New gear: the Bantam and Stiletto weapons, plus the Grappling Hook, Basic and Advanced Cameras, Tether Launcher, Yank Grenade, Mountaineer's Detector, Banjo and Harmonica.
  • Quality of life: the stash can grow to 328 slots and quests now give XP.

Which balance changes came with Frozen Trail?

  • Explosives such as the Hullcracker deal over 50% more damage to ARC armour plates but around 30% less to fragile parts.
  • Heavy Shield durability decay fell from 0.20 to 0.15 and its movement penalty from 15% to 10%.
  • Snap Hook range dropped from 20m to 18m, with higher durability and power costs.
  • The Anvil moved from Green to Blue rarity, and the Bantam takes over its uncommon hand cannon role.
  • The Solo vs. Squads matchmaking option was removed while Embark reevaluates it.

What changed in Live Update 2.3.0?

  • New Noxious Set and a Souls Offering player project.
  • The Expedition Vault was disabled; buyers received Bronze Statuettes and vault items moved to their stash.
  • Heavy Shield base charge rose from 80 to 90, and Flame Spray damage rose from 10 to 13 per second with 50% less durability drain.
  • Adrenaline Shot can be used at full stamina but no longer stacks.
  • Several weapon blueprints can now drop under any major map condition.
  • Fixes for the Grappling Hook, Frigate pings, Pendola Pass collisions and an AMD RX 7000 ray tracing crash.
  • Embark also said fixes will now ship every three weeks and store updates weekly.

What did Hotfix 2.4.1 fix?

  • Players could enter the Seed Vault extract while it was closed.
  • Leaving the Ballistic Gondola could make players invisible.
  • Invisible collision inside residential buildings.
  • Several crashes on Xbox.
  • Ukrainian is now a supported language.

What is on the ARC Raiders roadmap?

In May 2026 Embark moved from monthly updates to two major updates a year, backed by a live team handling balance, fixes, store updates and events. Frozen Trail was the first of these. Here is what is confirmed and what is not:

  • Next major update: not announced.
  • Expeditions: paused after the fifth Expedition in September 2026, returning in early 2027 with major improvements, according to Embark.
  • PvE matchmaking toggle: tested from October 13 to 20, with over 30 million PvE rounds played. No decision yet; Embark expected to share more in November.
  • Planned work: deeper progression, more personalisation, Trials improvements and a more rewarding Expedition Project, with no dates given.

Frequently asked questions

What is the latest ARC Raiders patch?

The latest patch is Hotfix 2.4.1, released on November 5, 2026. It fixed players entering the Seed Vault extract while it was closed, an invisibility bug when leaving the Ballistic Gondola, invisible collision inside residential buildings and several Xbox crashes, and it added Ukrainian as a supported language. It followed Store Update 2.4.0 on November 3 and Live Update 2.3.0 on October 27.

When did the Frozen Trail update release?

Frozen Trail, also called the 2.0 update, released on October 8, 2026, and Embark ran a free play period from October 8 to 12. Embark described it as the largest update since launch. It added the Pendola Pass map, the ARC Frigate, the Bully, Skulker and Hydra enemies, the Outpost, Reward Passes, a revamped skill tree and new weapons including the Bantam and Stiletto.

When is the next big ARC Raiders update?

The date of the next major update is not announced. In May 2026 Embark said it would release major updates twice a year instead of monthly, and Frozen Trail in October 2026 was the first under that plan. Between major updates, a live team handles balance changes, fixes every three weeks, weekly store updates and player events, so smaller patches keep arriving.

Are Expeditions coming back to ARC Raiders?

Yes, according to Embark. In August 2026 it said the fifth Expedition, which opened on September 8, would be the last one until early 2027, because it wanted time to make major improvements to the system and fix player pain points. Live Update 2.3.0 also disabled the Expedition Vault, moving its contents into players' stashes. An exact return date is not announced.

Is ARC Raiders getting a PvE-only mode?

Not confirmed. Embark tested a PvE matchmaking toggle from October 13 to 20, 2026, and players completed over 30 million PvE rounds. Embark called the test polarizing and said any decision would put the overall health and enjoyment of the game first. It expected to share more information in November 2026, so watch the official news page for the outcome.
