Rainbow Six Siege X ranks run Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond and Champion, and each tier has five divisions. Since Ranked 3.0 arrived in June 2026, there is no hidden MMR: your Rank Points (RP) decide both your rank and your matchmaking. In Operation Split Fire, the top solo players can also enter the new Legend Division above Champion.

What changed with Ranked 3.0?
Ranked 3.0 launched with Operation System Override on June 2, 2026. The biggest change is that hidden MMR is gone. The game now matches you only by RP, so the number you see is the number the game uses.
- Placement matches: you play 5 placement matches at the start of each season before you get a rank. They give increased RP gains and have no squad restrictions.
- Context-based RP: how much RP you win or lose depends on the result and the rank balance between teams. Beating a stronger team pays more, and losing to a lower-ranked team costs more. The post-match report shows the change.
- Demotion shield: if you started a match above 0 RP in your division and lose, you can be left at 0 RP instead of dropping a division.
- Squad limits: from Copper to Emerald, teammates must be within 3 full ranks of each other. In Diamond and Champion the gap is 2 full ranks.
How does the map ban phase work?
Under Ranked 3.0 the standard ban phase shows 5 maps: 3 from the Pro Pool and 2 from the Seasonal Pool. Ubisoft's mid-season update lists the current Pro maps as Border, Bank, Chalet, Clubhouse, Villa, Fortress, Kafe, Lair and Nighthaven, with Oregon, Coastline, Consulate, Kanal, Outback and Casino as additional ranked maps. Ubisoft also says Split Fire is the last season to use the current ranked map rotation system; what replaces it has not been announced.
What is the Legend Division and who can play it?
The Legend Division is a solo-queue-only competitive playlist above Champion that uses the Pro League map pool. It opened with the October 15, 2026 mid-season update and runs through December 1. Players lock their region before playing, and regional leaderboards are public.
- Be Champion in the current season.
- Have finished Platinum or higher last season.
- Reach Clearance Level 200 or more.
- Hold Reputation Standing level three or higher.
- Enable Secure Boot and an authenticator app for two-factor authentication. Ubisoft's season page also lists Windows Memory Integrity and TPM 2.0 on PC.
Legend players get a dynamic profile banner, and the top 100 in each region earn a charm showing their position, which they must stay in the top 100 to keep. It resets each season with the normal rank reset.
What rewards do you get from ranked?
Ranked 3.0 added a Competitive Rewards track. A win gives 2 points and a loss gives 1, and every 10 points unlocks something, from Competitive Coins and Alpha Packs up to a headgear at 150 points. Rank-based rewards use the highest rank you reached that season, even if you drop later.
Do you need anything to unlock ranked?
Yes. Ubisoft requires a minimum clearance level and two-step verification on your Ubisoft account before ranked opens; the exact current threshold is listed on Ubisoft's support pages. Account security matters even more in Year 11: ahead of the Legend Division, Ubisoft reported a ban wave of more than 50,000 accounts targeting account sharing, account selling and ban evasion.

Frequently asked questions
What is the highest rank in Rainbow Six Siege?
Champion is the highest standard tier, and since Ranked 3.0 it has five divisions like every other tier. Above it sits the Legend Division, a solo-queue-only playlist that opened with the Operation Split Fire mid-season update on October 15, 2026. Legend works as a regional leaderboard, and the top 100 players in each region earn an exclusive charm.
Does Rainbow Six Siege still use hidden MMR?
No. Ubisoft's Ranked 3.0 update, which launched on June 2, 2026, removed hidden MMR entirely. Matchmaking now uses only your Rank Points, so the RP you see is the value the game uses. RP gains and losses also depend on the rank balance between the two teams, so beating stronger opponents earns more and losing to weaker ones costs more.
How many placement matches are there in Siege X?
Under Ranked 3.0 you play 5 placement matches at the start of every season before receiving your starting rank. Placement matches give increased RP gains, and Ubisoft says there are no squad restrictions during placements. After placements, the normal squad rules apply, so you need to stay within 3 full ranks up to Emerald and within 2 in Diamond and Champion.
What are the Legend Division requirements?
Ubisoft lists six: current Champion rank, Platinum or higher last season, Clearance Level 200 or more, Reputation Standing level three or higher, Secure Boot enabled, and an authenticator app for two-factor authentication. On PC the season page also mentions Windows Memory Integrity and TPM 2.0. Players also lock their region before playing, and the division runs through December 1 in Split Fire.
Can I play ranked with friends of different ranks?
Yes, within limits. From Copper to Emerald, everyone in your squad must be within 3 full ranks of each other. In Diamond and Champion the gap shrinks to 2 full ranks. Placement matches at the start of a season have no squad restrictions. The Legend Division is solo queue only, so it cannot be played with a party at all.
