When does MW4 Ranked Play start?
There is no official date. Recent games added Ranked later in their first year: Black Ops 7 Ranked launched with Season 02 on February 5, 2026, according to the official BO7 Season 02 announcement. Dexerto expects MW4 Ranked in early 2027, but that is a prediction, not an announcement. The Call of Duty League 2027 season starts on December 4, 2026 and uses MW4, which usually means the competitive ruleset is close.

How did Skill Rating (SR) work?
- Unlock: 50 matchmade multiplayer wins, then 3 placement wins for a starting rank.
- Wins earned SR based on your own performance and the margin of victory. Losses took SR away.
- Loss protection covered your first 3 losses of a season, your first 3 losses after ranking up, and your first loss each day.
- If a matchmade teammate quit, your loss was reduced or removed.
- Season reset: Bronze to Gold kept their rank, while Platinum and above played one placement match.
- Parties: Crimson and above could queue only solo or as a duo within one rank; Diamond players had to be within two ranks.
What were the Ranked Play rules?
Ranked used Call of Duty League 4v4 settings with Hardpoint, Overload and Search and Destroy. Only assault rifles, SMGs, pistols and melee weapons were allowed, with snipers allowed in Search and Destroy only. The Greed wildcard was the only wildcard, friendly fire was on, and teams vetoed maps and modes before each match. How did Warzone Ranked work?
Warzone Ranked in Black Ops 7 ran on Resurgence. SR was capped at 150 per match. Placement paid up to 125 SR for first place, down to 0 for finishing outside the top 15, and each elimination added 2 to 5 SR. From Silver upward, every match had a deployment fee taken from your SR, and some loadout items were restricted.
What rewards did Ranked Play give?
Players earned a rank skin from Gold upward, special skins for Top 250 and the #1 player, rewards for win milestones, and calling cards and camos for each rank reached. Expect a similar reward track when MW4 Ranked arrives.
How should I get ready for MW4 Ranked?
- Bank your wins now: if MW4 keeps a win requirement, matchmade wins before launch may count.
