Warzone Season 1 (November 6, 2026) moved Warzone to Modern Warfare 4. It added two maps, Hajin for Battle Royale and Zodiac for Resurgence, made Tactical Sprint default for everyone, introduced Elite perks found in matches, and launched on Nintendo Switch 2. Verdansk and Rebirth Island are out for now and return later in the season.

Updated November 7, 2026.

This guide sums up the official Warzone Season 1 overview and the November 5 patch notes in plain English, so you know what to expect before you drop in. For multiplayer and DMZ, see the MW4 Season 1 guide.

What are the new Warzone maps?

Map Type What stands out
Hajin Large Battle Royale Spans North and South Korea, 13 major points of interest, changing weather, new Gulag with two arena layouts
Zodiac Compact Resurgence 10 points of interest in a drone factory, underground tunnels and moving trains

Activision has not published Hajin's size or its standard Battle Royale player count. The only official count is 120 players for Massive Resurgence on Hajin. On Zodiac, Rally Point is a 20-player mode and Loaded Resurgence holds 44 players.

Are Verdansk and Rebirth Island gone?

For now. Activision says both maps "return later in Season 1", and Dexerto reports they were not in the playlist at launch. No return date has been given. Season 1 Reloaded, the mid-season update, is the most likely window, but that date is not announced either.

Which game modes can I play?

  • At launch: Battle Royale and BR Casual, Resurgence and Resurgence Casual, Rally Point, Massive Resurgence and Loaded Resurgence.
  • Mid-season: Extreme Resurgence and Rockets and Snipers.
  • Off for all of Season 1: Private Match.

How did movement change?

Movement is faster and less punishing than before:

  • Tactical Sprint is default for every player with no perk needed. It adds about half a meter per second for up to about four seconds.
  • The delay between sliding and sprinting is gone, and so is the aim-down-sights penalty after a slide.
  • You can drag a downed teammate to cover while reviving them.
  • Weapon swaps and movement while aiming are faster, and bullets travel faster, per the patch notes.

In practice, fights start and end faster. Close the distance using cover and slides, and expect enemies to reach you sooner than in older Warzone seasons.

How do perks, Elite perks and loadouts work now?

There are 18 perks. You choose 15 of them across three slots in your loadout, and three Elite perks (Athleticism, Phantom and Fieldcraft) can only be found during a match. You can run one Elite perk at a time.

Each squad gets one free Loadout Drop. Weapon Augments are bought at Buy Stations. In Resurgence you can also buy Drop Kits: Insured, Loadout, Armored and Radar. All 33 MW4 launch weapons are in Warzone, and older weapons from MW2, MW3, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 can still be used but cannot be edited in Gunsmith.

What changed with armor and plates?

  • Armor plates cost $300 at Buy Stations.
  • The Tempered perk fills your armor with two plates instead of three.
  • Armor Satchels now come from Ground Ops rewards, such as safes, rather than floor loot.

What new gear is there?

The Zipline Launcher fires a zipline anyone can use, including enemies, so place it where your squad can cover the top. The Grabber Drone is new tactical gear. Launchers now destroy a Counter UAV with one rocket, and vehicles have weak points that take 30% more damage.

What was removed or nerfed?

  • The Contract Cash Multiplier is gone.
  • High Value Loot Zones dropped from three to one per match.
  • Knockdown was removed from the RPG-7, the Astaroth .57 and some Apex attachments.
  • Bomb Glider damage was cut below 300.
  • Combat Record and Leaderboards are off until Season 2. See how to check your MW4 and Warzone stats.

Which platforms is Warzone on now?

Warzone is on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and, for the first time, Nintendo Switch 2. Support for PS4 and Xbox One ended with this season. Your progress carries over if you sign in on a supported platform with the same Activision account. Player Level reset for the new season, and Prestige is now shared across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone; our MW4 Prestige guide explains how it works.

Frequently asked questions

What is the new Warzone map in Season 1?

Hajin is the new large Battle Royale map. It spans North and South Korea, has 13 major points of interest, changing weather and a new Gulag with two arena layouts. Zodiac is a new compact Resurgence map set in a drone factory, with tunnels and moving trains. Activision has not published Hajin's size or its standard Battle Royale player count yet.

Is Verdansk in Warzone Season 1?

Not at launch. Activision says Verdansk and Rebirth Island return later in Season 1, and reports confirm both were missing from the launch playlist. No return date has been announced. The Season 1 Reloaded mid-season update is a likely window, but its date has not been announced either, so check the in-game playlist and the official Call of Duty blog for the confirmed date.

Do you still need a perk for Tactical Sprint in Warzone?

No. From Season 1, Tactical Sprint is default for every player. It adds roughly half a meter per second of speed for up to about four seconds. The delay between sliding and sprinting and the aim penalty after sliding were also removed, and weapon swaps are faster, so fights in Season 1 start and finish more quickly than in earlier seasons.

What are Elite perks in Warzone?

Elite perks are three special perks, Athleticism, Phantom and Fieldcraft, that you find during a match instead of choosing them in your loadout. You can have only one Elite perk equipped at a time. They sit on top of the 15 regular perks you pick across three loadout slots, which brings the total to 18 perks in Season 1.

Is Warzone on Switch 2 and PS4?

Warzone launched on Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time in Season 1, and it remains on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Support for PS4 and Xbox One ended. Your progress, unlocks and purchases carry over when you sign in on a supported platform with the same Activision account, so link your account before switching devices.
